Many features of Cuban culture have become known all over the world, but it is certainly music and especially Salsa that have made Cuba so popular.
The Carnival of Santiago de Cuba, which takes place once a year in July, along with the street celebrations in Remedios and the Charangas de Bejucal in December, are perfect opportunities to enjoy the authentic traditions and customs of Cuba and immerse yourself into the authentic Cuban lifestyle.
Academia de Baile "Ritmo Cubano" Our Dance Academy was founded in 2001 between our schools and the Centro Nacional de la Música Popular (National Centre for Popular Music) and various professional dancers.
The dancers’ high standards, their commitment and motivation will make this dance class an unforgettable event in the life of our students and will certainly remain in their feet. Our dance school will not only teach the right steps but also give you a wonderful insight into the Cuban joie de vivre.
Academia de Baile "Ritmo Cubano"
The head of our salsa team, the prima ballerina Nery Caridad Machin Medina, finished her ballet course at the Escuela Nacional de Arte, the National Academy of Arts. Nery stands out not only because of her professional training, but also because of her style and charm.
A fact that no participant can overlook. The carefully selected and trained team members at our Academy are highly qualified and make the lessons for beginners and advanced students an unforgettable experience.
During our Salsa course you will have your private dancing partner from our team at your side, he or she will adjust to your individual dancing level.
Groups have between 2 and 8 participants. Since the dancing partners predominantly speak English, you do not necessarily need to speak Spanish. Upon request, lessons in other dances such as Son, Rumba or Cha Cha Cha are available.
Classes run from Monday to Friday from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm and 4.00 pm to 5.30 pm depending on the level. Morning classes can be scheduled upon request. At the end of the course each participant receives a certificate.
Location and timetable
The salsa course takes place in our school building and will usually be held in the afternoons at 14:00, on Mondays at 14:30. If we have more participants there will also be a second class right after the first one ends.
Please ask at the school' s recpection on your first day of course to receive your timetable.
Dancing lesson may also take place at the “Casa de Tango” (Calle Neptuno ,entre Galiano y Aguila, Habana Centro)
